Hear the Cheese Weasel Song Rap Remix by RDQLUS

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Steve G @rdqlus_creative has a great reinterpretation of the Cheese Weasel Day Song. Check out his flow. Here is a little exerpt of the lyrics below.

Listen to the MP3 of his rap here

>> Cheese Wheel Day (RMX) feat. Stevie G. tha’ RDQLUS One <<

Check out Steve’s flow…

“on April 3, scream it with me… FORMAGGIO!,
I like my cheese suite & rich like Bellagio
Or I can chill low-bill at the cottage,
it varies when I’m speaking about my fave piece of dairy
Milky – is the way I choose to describe it
While some say cheddar’s betta, I’m feta
Cheeses go bold, melty hot or cold,
wheel of block… only food that you can rock when it’s moldy
Get some wine from the cellar-bration, cheese nation,
But I go “Gouda Fella” if  touch my mozzarella”

On Twitter use #cwd or #CheeseWeaselDay tags when you give a "Thank You" shout out to your techie Tweeps

This Cheese Weasel Day, use Twitter to send your greetings and thanks to your techie friends using an @mention of them on the network. If you use the hashtags #cwd or #CheeseWeaselDay your greeting will also show up on the official CWD website twitter feed (see right column). Wouldn’t it be great to have gratitude become a trending topic on Twitter.

New to using hashtags on Twitter. Here’s the DL from Twitter on them.

Hashtags: a Twitter community creation

Because Twitter provided no easy way to group tweets or add extra data, the Twitter community came up with their own way: hashtags.  A hashtag is similar to other web tags- it helps add tweets to a category.  Hashtags have the ‘hash’ or ‘pound’ symbol (#) preceding the tag, like so: #traffic, #followfriday, #hashtag.  Hashtags can occur anywhere in the tweet: some people just add a # before a word they’re using. More here

It’s just another part of the fun of Cheese Weasel Day. While you are thinking about Twitter, why not follow us @CheeseWeaselDay too? Thanks!

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Cheese Weasel Day Tradition: Place a slice of cheese under the mouse pad of your techie friends with a thank you note as a way to show your appreciation for all they do.

Its that time of year again. Time to plan your annual Cheese Weasel Day blog post! Here are some talking points to help get you started on planning this year’s blog post. You have ten days to plan, so make this year a special Cheese Weasel Day memory.

Cheese Weasel Day Talking Points:

  • Cheese Weasel Day (CWD) is the only Internet holiday.
  • A Holiday for Techies
  • Started around 1993, CWD is celebrated each April 3rd
  • A holiday designed to celebrate the contributions of technical people…using cheese.
  • You place a piece of sliced cheese under the mouse pads of the techies in your life with a thank you note for their contributions to making life easier.
  • Plan a party to celebrate the contributions of your technical friends.
  • Make something with cheese.

More ways you can celebrate Cheese Weasel Day:

  1. Give your favorite tech person a Thank You shout out using #cheeseweaselday or #cwd on Twitter
  2. Send someone you know in the tech sector a Cheese Weasel Day Greeting card. Here are some Cheese Weasel Day E-cards
  3. Arrange secretly for a slice of cheese to be placed under the mouse pad of a tech person you know. [Check back in a few days to make sure they found the Cheese. Just to be sanitary. I mean, if they don't know about it and leave it there indefinitely, it could start to smell like Limburger.]
  4. Go here and learn the Cheese Weasel Song so you can sing it at your own Weasel celebration.
  5. Write a blog post. Help spread the word about Cheese Weasel Day by writing on your blog.
  6. Take a picture of your Cheese Weasel Day party and upload it on the CWD Facebook page
  7. Plan a Cheese Weasel Day party. It’s fun! A fondue party, make grilled cheese sandwiches, nachos, or Cheetos on the house!
  8. Get the official “Cheese Weasel Day” tee! Ferret out your bad fashion and gird your loins with the weasel. It’s the perfect thing to wear to a CWD party!
