Cheese Weasel Day (April 3rd) is a holiday for techies, you leave cheese under their mouse pads..if they’re good. Here are eight ways you can celebrate.

Here is how you can celebrate:

  1. Give your favorite tech person a Thank You shout out using #cheeseweaselday or #cwd on Twitter
  2. Send someone you know in the tech sector a Cheese Weasel Day Greeting card. Here are some Cheese Weasel Day E-cards
  3. Arrange secretly for a slice of cheese to be placed under the mouse pad of a tech person you know. [Check back in a few days to make sure they found the Cheese. Just to be sanitary. I mean, if they don't know about it and leave it there indefinitely, it could start to smell like Limburger.]
  4. Go here and learn the Cheese Weasel Song so you can sing it at your own Weasel celebration.
  5. Write a blog post. Help spread the word about Cheese Weasel Day by writing on your blog.
  6. Take a picture of your Cheese Weasel Day party and upload it on the CWD Facebook page
  7. Plan a Cheese Weasel Day party. It’s fun! A fondue party, make grilled cheese sandwiches, nachos, or Cheetos on the house!
  8. Get the official “Cheese Weasel Day” tee! Ferret out your bad fashion and gird your loins with the weasel. It’s the perfect thing to wear to a CWD party!

Just saw an awesome post by art giant Von Glitschka a good friend of CWD. He created the excellent CWD logo. He calls me (Chris) a Cheese Weasel Day “Evangelist”. but I think of myself more of as a Fondue-mentalist.

Since I am into marketing, I also have a natural affinity for weasels. :-)

Von has uploaded a cool print you can make and hang up in your CWD office party. Thanks again Von!

Von writes:

>> Does rodent and cheese apparel design grate on you? No worries, just download a CWD print to hang up in your office. Or just point that IT specialist that scorns your Mac over to this post and let them embrace the wonder that is Cheese Weasel Day!

The Legend of the Cheese Weasel

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Until recently CWD, has been celebrated quietly on April 3rd by many around the world as a fun day dedicated to saying thanks to all the good little boys and girls in the high-tech industry. Legend has it (and the internet has many legends) the Cheese Weasel (C.W.) travels the world, leaving a bit of cheese under keyboards or mouse pads of good techie boys and girls. The type really doesn’t matter though Kraft Singles often is the cheese of choice. However, depending on how often you look under your keyboard, the C.W. might place a wedge of cheddar instead. And if you’re lucky–some cheesecake might appear near your computer! That’s all you need to know about CWD, just go with it and have fun!

Cheese Weasel Day: A Holiday for Techies

Friday, March 12th, 2010

They make your email work again. They fix your computer when it crashes. They made your website look good. They politely answer technical questions they have heard 100 times before. They make you famous on Facebook and Twitter. They make your site friendly to search engines. They attract traffic to your blog. They made your favorite cell phone application. They understand how to make the copiers and printers work again so you can get your report in on time. It’s time to say thank you for all they do! It doesn’t cost anything to say thank you, but you can make Cheese Weasel Day a special event just for them. Why not? It’s fun!
